In the last decades, many evidence-based psychological interventions have been developed to support cancer patients and survivors. Unfortunately, the clinical implementation of these interventions falls short. Bridging the gap between evidence and practice has therefore been acknowledged as one of the most important current challenges in psycho-oncology.
The mission of the implementation committee is to build a bridge between research and practice, ensuring that innovations and insights from research reach healthcare professionals, patients, and their families. The committee aims to identify common facilitators and barriers of implementation and to facilitate and bring together researchers with knowledge about opportunities, bottlenecks and best practices in all phases of implementation (from research ideas to development of innovations to scale-up of evidence-based interventions). We strive to equipe researchers with advice on sustainable implementation and scale-up of their innovations. Furthermore, the implementation committee will work on grant applications to implement evidence-based psycho-oncology innovations nationally.
With input from this committee, POCON aims to be a place where researchers can pick up knowledge on issues related to implementation, for example, on common bottlenecks and opportunities, best practices, stakeholder involvement and infrastructure in the healthcare setting.
