Committee Partners in Research
Chair: Tom Bootsma
Members: TBD
The Partners in Research committee within POCON is committed to the active involvement of patients, relatives, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders in psycho-oncological research. We believe that research becomes stronger, more relevant, and more inclusive when it is developed together with the people directly affected by it.
We are exploring how sustainable collaboration between researchers and stakeholders within POCON can take shape. Possible directions include mapping diverse groups and investigating suitable forms of involvement—such as contributing ideas, co-creation, or serving as a sounding board. In doing so, we explicitly aim to create space for voices that are often less heard in research.
We are also considering the setup of a stakeholder pool and ways to support researchers with practical tools. For example, in involving stakeholders in developing project ideas, interpreting data, or making results accessible.
Additionally, we want to create opportunities for dialogue and collaboration, such as round tables, advisory groups, or focus discussions. We are investigating how to shape feedback loops and how to evaluate and strengthen involvement.
